Firstly a brief introduction... I'm a multidisciplinary artist and single Mum based on the Northamptonshire / Oxfordshire border (UK). My abstract practice is centred around a natural curiosity and the opportunity to combine a love of learning and research with my creativity. A fascination with psychology, the complexity and layers of the human experience, and the beauty and fragility of the natural environment are all recurring themes that I explore through my work.

About the Artist
Louise Brook (b. 1978, London) is a multidisciplinary artist, based in Northamptonshire. Louise creates abstract work from a place of curiosity, combining her love of learning and research with her artistic practice. Using storytelling and discovery she creates accessible narratives around complex themes, with the intention to inform and intrigue, sparking interest, curiosity, and conversation.
Louise describes her artistic process as a dance between the intuitive and the intentional. Working predominantly with acrylics and mixed media, Louise creates depth and interest through rich layers and textural detail. Collage and layers are an integral part of Louise’s practice, creating intrigue, informing her narrative, and providing glimpses into the artistic journey.
Louise exhibits in major cities across the UK, including London, Nottingham, Northampton, Banbury and her home village of Middleton Cheney. Notable awards include being a Highly Commended Finalist in the Society of All Artists Artist of the Year Award 2024, Longlisted for the Women United Art Prize 2024, Longlisted for the Visual Artist’s Association Artist of the Year Award 2024 and 2023 and Longlisted for the Visual Arts Open 2023.
