As of the 13th of December 2024, I will no longer be able to routinely ship to the European Union or Northern Ireland due to the new GPSR legislation. In the short term I have disabled International shipping, as there is no way of easily just excluding the EU, but I will be setting up shipping for countries outside the EU in the New Year. Playing with Fire by Louise Brook (2024) is a dramatic trio of works inspired by the volcanic eruption in Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula in May 2024. The spectacular, vivid images beamed around the world demonstrated the startling yet beautiful ferocity of this natural geological event, capturing the artist’s imagination and compelling this artistic response.
The composition and bold design of this original mixed media work is striking from a distance, while closer inspection reveals exciting nuances delivered through a rich textural surface full of hidden details and depth. Black is not just black, “magma” crackles ominously under the surface and layers of mixed media and collage throughout deliver visual surprises and glimpses into the creative journey.
