The Heseltine Open 2024

I am delighted to announce that I will be exhibiting in The Heseltine Open again this year. Based in my village of Middleton Cheney, this award winning gallery is a beautiful space, and the annual Heseltine Open is a vibrant display showcasing local artists in all mediums.

My Entries: Heseltine Open 2024

This year, I am taking a slightly different approach with my entries to the Open.

I will be submitting two abstract works and one wildlife work, to better showcase the range of my multidisciplinary practice. I am excited that all of these works are from 2024 and so give a really good insight into my practice this year. Shown below, these pieces are (in clockwise order):

Kingfisher, 2024, Coloured Pencil, 30 x 40 cm (unframed)

Playing with Fire I, Acrylic & Mixed Media 61 x 61 x 4 cm (unframed)

Surfacing (A Triptych), 2024, Acrylic & Mixed Media, 40.6 x 30.5 cm (unframed, each panel)

All of the works will be for sale, so I am hoping that one (or more) of these original pieces may end up under someone's tree as the most original and timeless gift!

Committee & Curation

Over the past year, I have become increasingly involved with The Heseltine Gallery, joining the Committee and taking on responsibility for public relations on behalf of the gallery. I am excited to be taking this even further in terms of my involvement with the 2024 Open...

As well as exhibiting, I will be curating the exhibition in conjunction with another talented local artist and good friend, Lucy Mathers (www.lucymathers.com). This is the first time either of us have curated an exhibition this large, so it is an exciting but daunting opportunity.

Watch this space to see how we do... I am planning to write a blog about my first major curatorial experience: the good, the bad and (hopefully not too much of) the ugly!
